Nestled in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains, Kingston is a progressive town, rich in colonial history. Capitol of the State of Tennessee for a day in 1797, and home to a British fort, Kingston is located at the confluence of the Tennessee River and the Clinch River just thirty-five miles west of Knoxville - just off Exit 352 on Interstate 40 on the North, and minutes from Interstate 75 to the East and South. The law offices of McDonald & Hall are located in Kingston on Court Street just across the street from the Old Kingston Courthouse and the monument recognizing that Kingston was capitol for a day. Kingston’s walking trail is just a few feet from McDonald & Hall, follows the contours of Watts Bar Lake, and leads to Fort Southwest Point. From the top of the hill on which the Fort sits one can see a beautiful view of the Cumberland Mountains. Kingston is located in Roane County, the home of Roane State Community College, a two (2) year preparatory college that has a world class exhibit arena for horse, livestock, and rodeo-type competitions. |
